Meet Hannah

Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.

-Rumi

Hi, I’m Hannah. I was previously a nonprofit executive and stepped into my calling of caring for and serving mothers and families during their transition to parenthood in 2020. Based in Ventura, CA, I am able to serve the Central Coast of California in person and virtually worldwide!

I am a mom to three girls (#twinmom) and wife to my husband, Anthony. I would love to learn more about you and see how I might best serve you on your journey!

As a birth doula I have had the privilege of attending over 100 births in and out of the hospital setting and have supported birthing mothers at:

  • Their home
  • Cottage Hospital
  • Santa Barbara Birth Center
  • Community Memorial Hospital
  • Ventura County Medical Center
  • Los Robles Hospital
  • Marian Regional Medical Center
  • Cedars Sinai

What is a Doula?

What is a Doula?

Birth doulas are trained to provide continuous, one-on-one care, as well as information, physical support, and emotional support to birthing persons and their partners.

What is the difference between a Nurse and a Doula?

While your nurse may change with shifts throughout your labor, your doula will provide support and care long before you enter the birth space. A doula will support you physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and help guide you to Evidence Based resources while you prepare for the birth of your child and beyond.

Will a Doula replace your partner?

No! Your doula will support your whole family. Ideally your doula supports your partner so that they can best support you as you welcome your little one. Research has found that combining a supportive partner and a doula significantly lowers a mother’s risk of Cesarean compared to just having a supportive partner alone

Kind Words

"Emotions run high during this passage and Hannah meets them with a grounded grace that made me and my partner feel held. I especially appreciate her depth of knowledge and her willingness to advocate for me during the labor process while at the hospital. The nurses are great AND they can’t be there for the all those little moments and questions. She had spot-on intuition about when I needed to transition to the hospital from home as well as when I hit a wall with labor pains and needed extra support. I would definitely recommend Hannah to be part of your birthing team!" -Ariel

"Hannah went above and beyond to ensure both my fiancé and I were prepared & knowledgeable about the birthing and labor process I was about to embark on.. this helped tremendously as we didn’t feel like we were flying blind! At the hospital, Hannah helped us all remain calm and she was so helpful with easing the discomfort during painful contractions by applying pressure on specific body parts. Both my fiancé and I were so thankful to have her at the birth & pre-birth as it created such a comforting and reassuring presence that seriously made the whole experience 10x better. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a birthing doula!" - Cindy

"Hannah was an absolute God send for me. Even living far away, I could message her anytime with questions or concerns ranging from “is this bodily function normal” to “what’s a good baby carrier” and I would receive thoughtful, encouraging, and kind responses. Do yourself a favor, and bring Hannah into your birthing experience. She is your best supportive friend and your straight shooter sister, all while giving an experienced motherly touch. Whether you need emotional support, spiritual support, or just someone who straight up knows their stuff- she is a perfect fit.” -Sam

"For me, that continuity of care was really important and invaluable. Hannah’s presence and reassurance definitely played a huge role in bringing my dream labor into fruition. Not only was Hannah an amazing support throughout labor but she also was there for us prenatally and in my postpartum period. I will forever be grateful for getting recommended Hannah, doulas are the best!" -Diana

“The whole point of woman-centered birth is the knowledge that a woman is the birth power source. She may need, and deserve, help, but in essence, she always had, currently has, and will have the power.”

-Heather McCue
